There are more than 20 international airports in India. The two of the most busiest airports in India, The Indira Gandhi International Airport and the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport. To its neighbors India is connected by road and rail. Pakistan is India’s western neighbor. There are two road border crossings between the two countries. The Wagah Border crossing is the main road link and the second crossing connecting Srinagar in Indian Kashmir to the city of Muzaffarabad in Pakistani occupied Kashmir. Though the second crossing opened in 2003 but it is constantly affected by the tension between the two countries. There is also a dialy bus service that operates between Lahore in Pakistan and New Delhi in India. Samjhauta Express is the only train service operating between the two countries.

Nepal is India’s northern neighbor and it has many road routes with India, popular being Birganj-Raxaul, Sunauli-Gorakhpur and Kakarbhitta-Siliguri. Some of the border crossings on these routes are Sunauli, Birganj and Kakarbhitta. India is connected to its eastern neighbor, Bangladesh by many land crossings and there are some villages and small towns which are divided by the border line into two parts.
